The study of resources for reducing mortality in road traffic accidents is important for the development of medical measures to reduce mortality as a result of road accidents. The aim of the study was to study the characteristics of mortality and fatality rates resulting from road traffic accidents (RTA) in the Vologda region and to identify ways to reduce mortality. Methods. Official statistics were analyzed. Mortality rates, including prehospital, early, and late hospital mortality, as well as the time to start and end of outpatient care (2015–2025) were calculated. Results. The mortality rate from road traffic accidents in Russia shows a decreasing trend (p=0.0003); mortality in rural areas is higher than in urban areas (14.4±0.5 (4.5) and 8.1±0.4 (2.5); pe to road accident victims will reduce road accident mortality by 1.1 per 100,000 annually. Conclusion. The priority element in the road traffic mortality reduction system in the Vologda Oblast is measures aimed at reducing the severity of road traffic injuries, reducing ambulance response times, and reducing early hospital mortality, including through appropriate patient triage.
