Summary:
Introduction. The state of dental health among students is an important indicator of overall health and quality of life. Dental health affects an individual's perception of their well-being and ability to function in society. However, the prevalence of dental caries and periodontal diseases remains high, despite the widespread use of advanced technologies for their prevention and treatment. The purpose of the study. To study dental health among medical students. Material and methods. In the Udmurt Republic, on the basis of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education "Izhevsk State Medical University" of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, a study of the state of dental health was conducted using a questionnaire survey. A total of 196 students from the 6th year of the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Pediatrics were surveyed, with the majority of them being female (76.0%, 149) and male (24.0%, 47) students aged between 22 and 30 years. An analysis of self-assessment of dental health showed that every second respondent noted a low level among the last-year students of the medical and pediatric faculties (less than 8 points on a ten-point scale). Every third respondent noted the presence of caries in the oral cavity, every second respondent had a missing tooth in the oral cavity, and every third respondent complained of bleeding gums.
