Introduction. Type 2 diabetes mellitus is one of the most significant chronic non-communicable diseases, creating a substantial medical, social, and organizational burden on the healthcare system. For assessing the regional epidemiological situation and planning medical care, prevalence and incidence rates are of particular importance, as they reflect both the scale of the disease and the effectiveness of early detection and outpatient follow-up of patients. Aim. To analyze and assess the long-term dynamics of prevalence and incidence of type 2 diabetes mellitus among the population of Perm Krai in 2010–2024. Materials and methods. A retrospective medical and statistical study was conducted. The analysis was based on official statistical reporting data for 2010–2024 from federal statistical observation form No. 12. Prevalence and incidence rates of type 2 diabetes mellitus per 100,000 population, as well as absolute increase and rates of increase, were calculated. Prevalence was defined as the number of all registered cases of type 2 diabetes mellitus in the corresponding calendar year, and incidence as the number of newly registered cases of the disease.
