Summary:
Introduction. The Obstetric Remote Consultation Center (hereinafter - ORCC) is the regional coordinating center for the maternity service. Given the high role of the ORCC in reducing maternal mortality, determining the optimal medical and organizational structure of the ORCC is an urgent task.
Goal. To determine the optimal medical and organizational structure of ORCC and the needs of changing it in Russian regions.
Materials and methods. The method of expert assessments was used. The experts were senior healthcare managers in the field of maternity care. The experts evaluated the optimal medical and organizational structure of ORCC (2025) on a 10-point scale. The data on the number and medical and organizational structure of ORCCs was obtained through a survey of the chief specialists in obstetrics and gynecology from 89 regions of the Russian Federation.
Results and Discussions. The optimal medical and organizational structure of an ORCC is to create it as a structural unit of a perinatal center (average score of 9.1). As of 2024, there are ORCCs in 83 Russian regions, 98% of which are based on an obstetric hospital. Given the number of births, it is not advisable to create ORCC in 4 regions, but it is necessary in 2 regions.
Conclusion. The current medical and organizational structure of the ORCCs in Russian regions is optimal. It is necessary to establish ORCC in Sevastopol and the Lugansk People's Republic.
