Summary:
Introduction. The study is devoted to analyzing the activities of compounding pharmacies in the Siberian Federal District licensed to produce medicinal products. The relevance of the work stems from the need to ensure patient access to personalized medicine and to develop pharmaceutical infrastructure. However, the lack of systematic data on the current state of compounding pharmacies infrastructure and demand volumes complicates managerial decision-making and hinders the development of this sector. Objective. To assess the current status and development prospects of compounding pharmacies in the Siberian Federal District, including: analysis of key performance indicators of compounding pharmacies across the region; and identification of territorial characteristics in the provision of socially significant pharmaceutical compounding services. Materials and methods. The study utilized open data from Roszdravnadzor's licensing registries, Rosstat statistics, and public procurement records from the Unified Information System (UIS), along with monitoring data on compounding pharmacies for 2023-2024. The methodology incorporated remote surveying techniques, contract desk analysis with data validation, and statistical processing using MS Excel. The research covered the period from 2021 to 2025. Results. The study identified 76 active compounding pharmacies in the Siberian Federal District (SFD), including 34 hospital-based facilities and 42 retail pharmacy institutions (27 legal entities). The highest concentration of compounding pharmacies was recorded in Irkutsk Oblast, while the lowest number was observed in the Republic of Khakassia. In 2023, the volume of compounded drugs in the SFD reached 5.26 million units, with documented demand for 116 international nonproprietary names (INNs) of pharmaceutical substances (active pharmaceutical ingredients). Analysis of procurement dynamics for compounding services in the SFD demonstrates consistent market demand growth. However, a shortage of qualified personnel was identified, particularly analytical pharmacists and pharmaceutical technologists. The study systematized data on compounding pharmacies requirements for pharmaceutical substances and analyzed contractual activity to identify key service providers in this sector. Conclusion. The study revealed an uneven distribution of compounding pharmacies across the Siberian Federal District, a workforce shortage, and the need for government support to develop infrastructure. The obtained data enables identification of strategic directions for improving medication supply, including expanding access to medical preparations for privileged patient categories and enhancing cooperation with raw material suppliers. These findings may inform managerial decision-making and guide further research in this field.
