Summary:
Introduction. The official websites of state medical organizations play a key role in ensuring information accessibility, digital support for patients and promoting disease prevention. More and more people are turning to online resources to get information about a healthy lifestyle. However, there is a lack of research on the effectiveness and optimal approaches to using Internet technologies in shaping a healthy lifestyle. This is what determines the relevance of the conducted research.
Purpose of the investigation. Evaluate the quality and completeness of information about a healthy lifestyle on the websites of state medical organizations.
Materials and methods. The study analyzed the websites of state medical organizations in 89 subjects of the Russian Federation (the total number of sites is 178). Descriptive statistics methods were used, including frequency analysis and analysis of variations, variance analysis. Tabular and graphical methods are used to visualize the data.
Results and discussion. The availability of information about healthy lifestyle is typical for 65,7% of the websites of medical organizations, 18% lacked it, and 16,3% could not be assessed due to lack of access to the site. Up-to-date information about healthy lifestyle was maintained on 48,9% of sites, and it turned out to be outdated by 20,5%. The formats for presenting information about healthy lifestyle were characterized by high variation (σ=±7,82; σ2=101,5489) and skewness of distribution (As=1,866032; ex=3,90288). Articles (53,4%), infographics (28,7%), and videos (22,5%) were the most widely distributed. All key areas of information about healthy lifestyle are covered on only 36% of sites. 27% of the sites contain information exclusively about disease prevention. Nutrition (7,3%), physical activity (5,1%), and hygiene (3,4%) were significantly less frequently covered. 17,4% of the sites indicated that the topics were not covered at all, 4,5% of the information was given via a link to another site, and 16,3% had no access to the site. The topics of the sections on healthy lifestyle were characterized by a high degree of variation (σ=17,58025; σ2=462,44444), substantial skewness of distribution (As=1,866032; ex=1,060184) and the impossibility of approximation (R2=0,1427) with the available number of observations.
Conclusion. The results of the study indicate the need to standardize approaches to creating and maintaining health sections, expand the functionality of websites and include modern multimedia and interactive tools.
