Summary:
Introduction. Population decline in Russia is one of the most acute social problems facing the Russian state. At the same time, the statistics of infertile marriages are still high, up to 15-20% of all those who marry. In this regard, the development of reproductive technologies remains an important area of medicine that contributes to solving demographic problems.
The purpose of the study was to study modern reproductive technologies that require appropriate equipment for IVF centers and trends in their development.
Materials and methods. Various literature search methods were used in the databases Scopus, Web of Science, MedLine, The Cochrane Library, EMBASE, Global Health, CyberLeninka, RSCI, eLibrary.ru . According to the keywords in vitro fertilization, IVF clinic equipment, IVF technology, 116 publications were selected, including 82 foreign sources. This paper presents a detailed analysis of twenty of them.
Results. In vitro fertilization centers are becoming increasingly complex in terms of equipment, technology, and processes. These systems are being integrated and simplified, and laboratory processes are being optimized to reduce the number of steps and reduce processing of gametes and embryos. The introduction of artificial intelligence systems for the assessment and selection of gametes and embryos, real-time data collection with the integration of voice input into electronic medical records, the development of robotic solutions for performing procedures such as oocyte insemination (ICSI), preparation of culture plates, sampling media and vitrification is expected everywhere. Currently, there are various formulations of media for growing embryos, dozens of manufacturers are known. Traditional indicators of the effectiveness of IVF laboratories, personnel and equipment are constantly being improved.
Conclusions. Due to the development of automation and digitalization, the role of embryologists and IVF laboratory assistants will change. Increasing the reproducibility of procedures will reduce the need for routine work, which will allow you to focus on complex and analytical tasks. The availability of modern equipment and qualified personnel is a key factor in the success of IVF programs.
Keywords in vitro fertilization, equipment of IVF clinics
