Introduction. The regions of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation (AZRF) are a sphere of national interest and an object of special strategic importance. One of the main directions of the development of the Russian Arctic is to increase life expectancy and health care of the population. Therefore, it remains in demand to study the specifics of the organization and provision of medical care in these territories in order to improve the therapeutic and diagnostic process and reduce the incidence of the population. Goal. To analyze the specifics of the organization and provision of medical care to the population living in the territories of the Russian Arctic. Materials and methods. The publications that are freely available on the topic of peculiarities of medical care in the Russian Arctic have been selected. An analytical review of the literature found was carried out: the resources of specialized search engines (Scientific Electronic Library – eLibrary.ru, US National Library of Medicine / National Institutes of Health). The scientific search was carried out using the following keywords: the Russian Arctic, the Russian Arctic, the organization of medical care. Discussion. The article discusses the features of providing medical care to the population of the Russian Arctic, including low population density and remoteness of settlements from administrative centers and healthcare institutions, problems of transport accessibility, shortage of qualified medical personnel and insufficient staffing of medical organizations. Conclusion. The revealed features of the organization and provision of medical care to the population in the territory of the Russian Arctic form a special type of life support for residents of these territories. The results of the review need to be studied in more detail in order to improve the quality of care provided and improve public health indicators.
