Summary:
Introduction. The urgency of the problem of identifying signs of substance abuse by primary health care doctors and further referring patients to the drug treatment service requires the development of new implementation mechanisms, due to the lack of effectiveness of the existing ones. For these purposes, a computer program was created: "Screening. Motivation. Referral to a specialist. Voice modules for risky consumption of alcohol and drugs, "which was proposed for implementation in medical organizations of the Samara region. Purpose. Evaluate the results of using the computer program: "Screening. Motivation. Referral to a specialist. Interactive voice response for risky alcohol and drug consumption. " Materials and methods. Within 3 months, the program was implemented in medical organizations of 5 urban districts and 13 municipal districts of the Samara region. 1309 respondents took part in the program. Based on the results, the proportion of people with risky consumption of alcohol and drugs who, as a motivational influence, listened to voice modules aimed at encouraging them to contact specialized medical organizations was estimated. Results and discussion. Of the 1309 participants in the program, risky alcohol consumption was detected in 120 respondents, which amounted to 9.2% (76 men - 12.2%, and 44 women - 6.5%). 44 respondents (3.4%) gave a positive answer to the question about the fact of drug consumption during the last year. The prevalence of drug use among men was 3.8% (24 respondents), among women - 2.9%. According to the results of the screening, 144 respondents listened to motivational voice modules. Of the 144 respondents who listened to the modules, 96 people (66.6%) answered subsequent questions about the effectiveness of the program. Of these, 74 people (77.1%) considered the listened information useful. To the question: "Are you planning to change your behavior in the near future by reducing or abandoning alcohol consumption?," 71 respondents, or 73.9%, answered positively. 51% of respondents plan to contact a specialist to receive treatment services, and are ready to provide contacts for subsequent communication with specialists (after 3 and 6 months) to discuss the steps taken by 10 respondents (10.4%). Conclusions. During the implementation of the computer program: "Screening. Motivation. Referral to a specialist. Interactive voice response for risky alcohol and drug consumption "proved to be a reliable screening tool for risky consumption in primary health care, which also allows a short motivational impact without involving medical personnel.
