The results of socio-hygienic study among midwives working in health institutions providing obstetric and gynecological care in Ryazan region, showed the dominance of women in the study group, while 49.8% of them are aged 30-45 years, 68.3 per cent are married, the vast majority (89.8 per cent) are raising one or more children. To 69.7% of MO midwives at all levels prefer primary prevention, unproductive their preventive work consider 54.1% of experts point to the shortage of working time for its holding 51.1% of the respondents. The leading cause of dissatisfaction with the activities of midwives in the prevention of patients is the shortage of informative advice on disease prevention and healthy lifestyle (69,7%) and lack of preventive services (78.6 per cent).
