Summary:
Introduction. Despite obvious positive shifts, the level of alcohol consumption in Russia remains at a fairly high level. The prevalence of drug addiction diseases, in particular, alcoholism and associated alcoholic psychoses, remain among the threats to national security in the field of health protection of the country's citizens. The study of indicators of primary morbidity, as one of the basic indicators of public health, makes it possible to assess the situation in terms of the influence of alcohol on health indicators of the population. Purpose. A comprehensive description of the current trends in the primary registered morbidity of drug addiction disorders associated with alcohol consumption in the Krasnodar Region. Materials and methods. The object of this study was the cases of primary registration of drug-related disorders caused by alcohol exposure among the population of the Krasnodar Region in 2000-2019. The sources of the data were official forms of statistical reporting, statistical materials from periodical collections of Rosstat and analytical reviews of specialized drug treatment institutions. Results and discussion. The data on the profile and dynamics of the primary registered morbidity of drug addiction disorders caused by alcohol use were obtained. The characteristics of general and nosological indicators are given depending on gender, territory of residence, age. Conclusions. A decrease in the incidence of alcohol-related drug abuse has made a significant contribution to the overall picture of changes in drug incidence rates in the Krasnodar Region. Trends in the incidence of alcohol drug pathology in the Krasnodar Region were more favorable than in the Southern Federal District and across the Russian Federation. A significant predominance of the rate of decrease in drug addiction alcohol-associated morbidity among the male population compared with the female population was established. The incidence rates in urban areas were higher than in rural areas. This may be due to the low availability of drug treatment in rural areas and the underestimation of cases. Throughout the period under study, there was a predominance of the incidence of alcohol-induced drug-related pathology among the population aged 20-59. The highest levels of primary morbidity were recorded in the group aged 20-39. The most unfavorable trend (the lowest rate of decline in indicators) was recorded in the group of 60 years and older. Noteworthy is the relatively high frequency of registration of these diseases among the adolescent population (15-17 years old). This allows us to draw a conclusion about the continuing significant contribution of alcohol-related drug addiction pathology to the challenges and threats to the socio-economic situation in the region.
